Your Turn
By David Soriano

Paper & pencil before you
What will you do
Write an essay, a poem
Or perhaps a Cro-Magnon sketch?

Words of happiness
Frustration
Anger written
Or perhaps sadness in the sketch?

Perhaps nothing
But a pencil broken in half
Fear of self-expression
Like untold millions past.

I am a chemistry professor with the University of Pittsburgh- Bradford in Pa. I am married 24 years with two daughters, cat and Bernese Mountain Dog. I write poetry when I feel I have something to express- it is a great outlet for me.
