Submission Guidelines
Submit for consideration to the Kota Website OR Blog
PLEASE NOTE: All submissions sent to us will be read with possibility of inclusion on this website KotaPress.com OR the blog version KotaPress.Blogspot.com OR Different Kind of Parenting zine (print & pdf).
- Works must, in some way, address grief and healing after the death of a child. Any genre is fine, but please only send works based in REAL experiences with grief. Grief is hard enough. We don't need or want works that exploit grief for entertainment!
- Previously published work is fine, but author is responsible for being sure they still retain rights and telling us how to credit previous publishers!
- We ask for online rights plus archive. Archive rights mean the piece stays online for as long as we do! Works will not be removed from the site! Period. After publication date, all rights revert back to the author.
- No attached files! Just send submissions in the body of an email: the works to consider, plus your bio, and a note telling us how your piece is related to a REAL grief experience. Please put ONLINE KOTA JOURNAL in the subject line of your email.
Submit for consideration to Different Kind of Parent zine
For 2008, we are working on anthology editions of the Different Kind of Parenting archive. These anthologies will include some new materials, too. So anything accepted for the zine this year may be used in anthology format. 2009 we will resume reading again for regular quarterly issues.
