Encore for Emily Emily!!

For those of you who couldn't get tickets for the sold-out performances of Emily Emily last week - the Blue Heron is offering an encore performance on February 25th! Mark it on your calendars and contact the Blue Heron about tickets *now*!!

People who saw it loved it so much they wanted to see it again! Those who missed it really regretted it after hearing the buzz from lucky ticket holders! *And* the author was contacted by ACT in Seattle wanting to see the video!

AmeriCorps on Vashon -- need helping hands?

Members of an AmeriCorps team are working at Camp Sealth here on the island, and they are interested in helping out other island folks! They are available to volunteer some hours where needed, whether it is stuffing envelopes, cleaning, or trailbuilding! They do it all. Isn't cool that they are here? I really do love this island!! Washington Women in Need offers support!

Recently discovered this foundation which provides funding to women who qualify in WA State, including women on Vashon! Funding offered can go toward: Education, Counseling, Physical, Dental, Vision, or Hearing services, health care insurance premiums. They have very few application for each area.  On specific dates, you can all them -- be on the phone calling promptly at 8am as applications run out within the hour usually!  The link above gives tons of information and their website in general offers contact info and other details. Check it out!

PTSA Auction

Hey, all! As you may know, the big, whopping, fun Vashon PTSA auction is coming up fast. It is February 12th, and the money is more needed than ever before!  Our PTSA funds much more than just "fun" things, like PTAs did when I was a kid. Now they fund  curriculum, textbooks, and much more.  So, hey, come to the auction!  Need tickets? I have ten burning a whole in my pocket.   Let me know. Or, go to Books By The Way or the Vashon Bookshop.  See you there! Specifics: Tickets are $10.00 for adults, $8.00 for students Child care is available at McMurray during the auction, $8.00 per child. Auction is at 5:30 at the High School.
