KotaPress, November 2002

Hey there!

Well, I'm thrilled to tell you that I once again had the FAB help of Samantha Mastridge to edit this issue of the Poetry Journal. She is also offering a brief review of the new pocket release of Kerouac's book, so check that out in the review.

We have twenty amazing poems again this month. The monthly contribution from Trevor Hewett is actually a sneak-peek at his newly released, KotaPress book titled Drift.

We've got works from KotaPress veterans such as Nancy Watts, Belinda Cannon, Townee, Dyan Sandefer, Barbara Crooker, and Susan Doyle. Plus works from KotaPress newbies such as Sarah K Allen, Mickey Z., Wendy Hammond, Mark Wahl, and Matthew Gleckman.

Barbara Crookers' contribution this month is a preview of a newly released holiday book -- check out her page for more details!

Our Poetry Therapy column comes in two parts this time. This is an all-new article (not previously published at Suite101), and we are doing two things here: 1) Defining Poetry Therapy as we address it here at KotaPress, and 2) Giving you some writing therapy ideas for coping with the holidays after the death of a loved one.

And Behind The Scenes is AMAZING this month!!! We are talking with Lynn Dewart who is just the most prolific and talented doll maker and ATC maker and more! You have to read this interview and then click through to see more on her website.

And last, but *definitely not least*, our Vashon Feature is all about WolfTown which is an amazing sanctuary here on Vashon. They are in danger of losing their land and really need your help RIGHT AWAY! Please check out the page and click through to their site for more information about them and what needs to happen to save their land. This is a really important deal, folks!! Check it out and show some holiday spirit by supporting this effort!

Miracles to you,

Kara L.C. Jones, Dakota's Mommy
